secretagentmole 1,701
Decided I should get out today, well I did not, she who must be obeyed did! So dropped off at the farm and I checked zero. The rabbits have been busy and it was like kitt invaders. Red ones, grey ones, one was almost the same colour as a blue Staffordshire bull terrrier. Was stood behind a wrapped bale and a collared dove flew into the hedge 30 metres away. It felt obliging and alighted on the power line and only 20 metres away. A nice pellet to the head saw it hit the deck hard. Lurking in the hedge row, I had my head down and was concentrating when all of a sudden there was this loud explosion of melody. 2 feet away a Wren was giving it large. They fit the little sods with subwoofers down here, the volume from such a tiny bird was incredible! Light was fading as I bowled a couple more kitts into the ditches. I know some of you do not like kitts being shot, my permission owners do not like seeing them on their fields. I am only happy to oblige. As the visible light was nearly gone I saw a sandy kitt heading for the burrow. As I got a better position on Nettly Knoll I saw a nice sized rabbit being, I lined up the crosshair and sent a nice AA Field to say hello. The rabbit rolled over with appreciation! So a bit of kitt slaughter, an adult for the pot and a collared pest despatched. Nice day for it! Edited April 7, 2015 by secretagentmole 3 Quote Link to post
