LurcherLad94 2,582
Thanks Fuji I just want to start working on his stamina abit as to be honest he gets f****d quite easily and want him as fit as he can be for next season witch wil be his first real one and mine with my own dog! FUJI 17,364
Being honest buddy I'd just let your pup enjoy being a puppy for now, honestly theres no rush,he's just around 6 months old and he's still growing, having him pounding the tarmac behind a bike will do him no good in fact quite possibly totally the opposite..just enjoy getting him out in the countryside, accustomed to all that is out there, the sights, the smells, the obstacles etc..he will learn plenty doing just that..its all early stage fieldcraft which will bode well for when he's ready both physically and mentally to start work come this next season..personally I'd not be thinking of running him behind the bike at all until the beginning of next season, just let him come on nice and steady this year, let him think its all a game and not a chore from the start as that can ruin a dog more so mentally and may in turn cause it to quit chasing heaven forbid..get him out regular like I said, livestock training very frequently if possible, recall training even more frequently and keep on working with his retrieve training, jumping and so on.. Keep him active both in mind and physically without killing him at this time of year..you've a smart young dog there, hope you have some great hunting trips together for many years ? 3 Quote Link to post
FERRETBOY 680
I totally agree with fugi but one thing I would like to ask is can you help develop the stamina and speed and structure of a dog with early exercise. Quote Link to post
