Been looking at dome perches for the aviary once it's up ...been out today with my daughter cutting some hazel sticks but I think I mite not use them as they will have to go from one side to the other..and I think perches what just stick out from the wall will making it easier for when I'm in the flight cleaning .....also been looking at some of the perches what they use for pigeons which are like a little apex...

What perches do you use lads cheers

I have natural branches in my flights and i've set them so i just kneel down to sweep the floor under them and apart from putting in nest pans or ringing chicks i don't need to go up the other end as such but i just move them out them way when do and there just poked into the wire across the flights from one side to the other. As been said they need different size branches for helping keep healthy feet

What sort of birds you got mate ?....wouldnt imagine them pigeon perches would be much good for small birds like canaries/finches etc......same as Fireman for me i just went over the forest and picked out some interesting looking shapes/sizes etc, gave them a bit of a clean up and just banged them in with nails....does the job and looks nice and natural.

As already been said natural I find best, if you cut them green (Hazel) you can manipulate/bend, over a few days, even making full circles and hanging from roof.

But I like long perches, as long as the flight in the best sunlight, for the longest periods, but also in shaded places for when it's very hot in summer.
