i was on a warship in the early 70 ,s 73 i think it was we berthed in liverpool north canida dock oposite what was then tyte@lyre sugar works

 

 

 

good run the ship had the fredom of the city of bootle .i remember a kind of night club along the dock rd it was a converted landing craft with a glass floor think it was called club ship landfall ,,,,,,,happy days :thumbs: ruff aere then around the docks but had a good time .

The city has changed a lot since those days and is unrecognisable to many that have lived away for some time, the capital of culture status changed all that and brought a lot of much needed investment, my mate bought a building just before it for 500,000pound to run his print business on the ground floor, he sold it 3yrs later for 7 million and thats now a hotel, if you look at the frontage on the pics from the river you will see the large skyscrapers and new buildings that are all accommodation or hotels, when Liverpool or Everton have a home game people fly in from all over Europe and the city is hectic, it is a safe city for a night out and great for stag and hen parties, WM
