Joe1888 672
my bitch is unlucky, its her first season, keeps picking up small cuts here and there, hoping in the next month or so, she gets abit more luck and can get a good crack at it, do more ferreting/lamping. heres a couple cuts she picked up a few days ago, we were out ferreting in the morning, i didnt notice any problems with her walking. then back out on lamp that night, she wasnt running right, didnt stop her trying though! then noticed these cuts. could be from a barb wire fence thats been cut down or crap lying around shes been getting walked on the lead at the moment, no running, no signs of it closing up. cleaned with chlorhex scrub first couple days, now using salt water. do yous think it will close up in time, or might need some glue or other treatment? can try get more clear pictures later, my phone is crap Edited March 3, 2015 by Joe1888
sandymere 8,263
Difficult to see but if not too deep keep clean and lead walk, if stitched it could well form an abscess. If any signs of infection then antibiotics any point unsure see a vet. Edited March 3, 2015 by sandymere
iworkwhippets 13,247
running dogs get running injuries pal, thats why i check my dog over after every outing, get stuck in with a salt water solution or hibiscrub, get right into the cuts, good luck
Gaz_1989 9,539
My bitch recently had a similar foot injury. Soak in salt water 3 times a day. Kept her in for 3 days. Then just lead walk for 2-3 days. It was healed up after that.
