Just My Feckin Luck.

I bought a Astra diesel for my shooting as I thought I would save on the fuel , the starter went ,that's £500 the alternator went ,thats £500 . £500 seemed the only price the garage knew the repairs cost more than I paid for the car . I scrapped it after the glow plugs went

£500 for a starter, that's daylight robbery.

And some :icon_eek: Astra starter second hand about £30 (ish), probably only £80 reconditioned and a couple hours to fit it.

Some of you blokes need to ask around google before paying these bills.

Looks like the alternator may be playing up on our works Transit, I don't intend paying much more than £25 for one and a couple hours tops to fit it.

Sussed the alternator, plug had come loose. ten minutes and a sqirt of WD later and sorted. Garage would have replaced it and charged me a fortune. Then there would have been one hell of a row when I told him to go stuff himself and work a better price out.

Some of you men are being ripped off big style methinks :icon_eek: If you don't know owt about motors FFS google it first before taking it in.

Got the quote for the turbo, oil filter and oil with fitting just over £500. I priced reconditioned turbos and they were only £60 less so may as well go with a new one with warranty.

That means no guns until next year, hey ho shite happens. Lol.
