Foldable Spades

Recommended Posts

This (link) is what I use

It's lasted me five years on the original shaft and I've not worn it out yet

It's got a short handle, which is ideal for my trap setting style, which is usually from the knees (ooh, ar missus).

I noticed Millet gave a link (Here) somewhere else for a fairly useful looking tool

I'd avoid anything 'folding' like the plague. Mole trapping is a ruffntumble kind of occupation and my tools get a fair bit of abuse

Thats the thing, mate.People use different things. Each to their own, but ? Do a 'search' for an old 'topic', think it was titled " molecatching spade " or something ? You might find it interesting,....lol (probably a few 'threads' actually)

Good thread that I enjoyed it thanks.

I can only go on my own experience, which is that despite the constant abuse mine has had it's still going strong after 5 years

In fact, I bought a replacement shaft down here last year, just in case it went on me, but it's still going strong

I may buy another one as a 'spare', as I don't know how I'd manage with a proper (grown up  ) spade if anything happened to mine
