bryn27 89
Nah I use my trusty old trowels, but some use these foldable small spades. Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
Just more crap to carry around as far as I can see. Quote Link to post
earth-thrower 494
Thats the thing, mate.People use different things. Each to their own, but ? Do a 'search' for an old 'topic', think it was titled " molecatching spade " or something ? You might find it interesting,....lol (probably a few 'threads' actually) 1 Quote Link to post
Matt 160
This (link) is what I use It's lasted me five years on the original shaft and I've not worn it out yet It's got a short handle, which is ideal for my trap setting style, which is usually from the knees (ooh, ar missus). I noticed Millet gave a link (Here) somewhere else for a fairly useful looking tool I'd avoid anything 'folding' like the plague. Mole trapping is a ruffntumble kind of occupation and my tools get a fair bit of abuse Quote Link to post

bryn27 89
I'll need more traps and a lend of the quad before I start humping more gear around on my rambles. Quote Link to post

shropshire mole 190
I use a light weight border spade, its the same length as a duffus, works a treat. Before that had a childrens border spade, really light weight, but the handle broke after a couple of years, been unable as yet to get a replacement being thinner than all available handles from hardware stores Quote Link to post

I can only go on my own experience, which is that despite the constant abuse mine has had it's still going strong after 5 years In fact, I bought a replacement shaft down here last year, just in case it went on me, but it's still going strong I may buy another one as a 'spare', as I don't know how I'd manage with a proper (grown up ) spade if anything happened to mine Quote Link to post
