Minkenry 1,044
does he bring the rabbits out the burrows and put them in the carrier for you once hes caught them ?. No, he doesn't. His caching training wasn't really going anywhere, and since I'll be training a mink kit to cache this spring, I didn't really feel like putting the 2 to 4 months of training into him to try to get him to cache. I decided to just start hunting with him, and save my efforts for my new kit this spring. So we just hunt him in areas where we can easily dig to his kill after he makes one. My hope is that Washushe will produce a litter so that my new kit will be one of his sons or daughters 1 Quote Link to post

Minkenry 1,044
Lol that nasty wee bugger wouldn't last two mins with my old dogs and they were steady as fec with ferrets that's gonna make for a hard work hunting partner if it don't snap out of that shit mate Yeah, it was his first time being free around the dog. He'll get bored of chasing the dog, once he has some more success with real game. Don't think he'll get board of chasing the dog as he didn't get board of ragging your glove ha ha. Once again minky you have done a great job keep it up Actually, it's funny that you should say that. Washushe has been on 2 more hunts since we filmed this video, and during the hunt today he completely ignored the dog, and focused on killing the rabbits like we wanted him to! I knew he would figure it out eventually, but I really didn't expect him to start ignoring the dog this easily! It's funny, I must have jinxed myself! Washushe has been doing really good at ignoring the dog these last couple days..... then today he grabbed the dog really bad, and I actually had to pry him off! lol I guess I spoke too soon! *The*Field*Marshall* 674
Great, great stuff. Well done. Fair play to that dog, he takes raccoon and Wildcats, but is steady when being attacked by a mink. The owner has done a good job on him 2 Quote Link to post

I'm hoping to get a lurcher pup by him. If we can find us a really good working greyhound bitch to breed him to, I think that mix has a good shot at being a great hunting dog! 1 Quote Link to post
