Rez 4,961 Posted February 12, 2015 Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 What's the gas ram shooting cycle like compared to a snappy v-Mach system? As of today I mean. I'm toying with getting myself an RM100 from Impact. Understandably, it'll take some time to bed in as per, but don't want to make the wrong decision. I've shot gas ram Theobens in the past, and didn't seem to get on with them, years ago this was... I'm a better shot now and like to think I can adapt to the process. I've got a lightening with a Theoben strut installed and it's ok, but after a days shooting I do feel tender at the shoulder area, as it's quite a sharp stun. I can shoot my springers all day and feel nothing. I know it's only a lightening, but again, 600 beans on a rifle that is essentially the same firing cycle would be rather annoying... Meaning the RM. ratbuster 808 Posted February 13, 2015 Report Share Posted February 13, 2015 Keep your money in your pocket and stick to your springers Not a great difference between the two systems, I do have a.20 Theoben Countryman and a theoben HW90 in .25 both FAC and gasram, but tuned springers just have the edge. As you say yourself, problems with the gasram Lightning, no problems with the springers, easy choice in my humble opinion...... 2 Quote Link to post
Coypu Hunter 486 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Share Posted February 14, 2015 My Stoeger rammer yields much more of a shove than the quick snap of my V-Mached 97. It needs a much firmer hold than the springer, and the lock time seems longer, but for a 16+ fpe rifle it shoots a lot softer than the 18 fpe spingers I've had. Quote Link to post
