bigmac 97kt 13,836
Well lads the nv has been on my mind all of the time its doing my head in so there is only one thing to do Go back to school we tell all the new lads to go to the range and get used to there rifle and the way it shoots and to group there shots in a five pence peace size grouping. And not to shoot pray until they can well i got a loan of a nv set up off a very good friend of mine off hear , Well i threw every thing out of the window and thought i new it all but NO I DID NOT i cant hit a thing with it as its to hard to judge the distance with it four times iv been out and four times iv come home with a empty bag . So iv taken on bored some advice off the nv lads and my mates . Im off to the farm to night and im going to sit and plink on with it iv made some car-bored cut outs of rabbits and im going to place them out from 10 to 60 yards and learn this nv if it kills me , Iv cut the eyes out of high vis strips so they will show up in the nv ,not the best looking rabbits lol but they will do atvbmac  3 Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
Very good idea mac, I had to do this a couple of years ago at a 45 degree decline warren I found hard to judge, only thing to do was out out with a few cardboard cut outs and learn the aim points, my bag has increased ten fold with far fewer misses 2 Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,568
Hi Mac, If it helps any - go to your permission during the day "without the rifle" but take a range finder with you and range your usual spots. After an hour or two of this mate you should have a good idea at night using a .177 (for me ) on your ranges. atb 1 Quote Link to post
