Netting Headge Rows Just Got Easier

Recommended Posts

The thing is with short long nets it can be time consuming setting the threw fences but it's easier to extract rabbits from them and still leave them standing ready for the next rabbit , where these large purse nets need reset after one catch and are out of action till there reset so you could miss a rabbit or two

No poles mate just pegs one ether side

But they will need holding up,,,or there just going to lie on the floor like they are in your pic,,,of course you can just delicately hang the top line,,,off a thin branch from the under side of the hedge,,,or break a stick off,,and twist the top line on the sticks,,like a longnet....

Has the net maker used these befor?,,,,

Because there is the possibility ,,,that these giant purse nets,,,could use the full length of the draw cords ,,,,in other words the bunny hits the centre of the net and keeps going till it's pursed,,,10 feet away,,,,,

To be fair this is unlikely because of undergrowth,,,I think they would be best set up like a longnet, two poles either side twist top and bottom lines on to a peg/pole

Well thought out there TOMO  however in theory with free flowing rings each end it'd be 5 feet before its fully pursed if the rabbit hits the middle of the net, thats a long way in a dense hedgerow. i think a well placed stopnet will probably catch more rabbits. the same for a gate net, i like them without the sliders in case there's another hare behind.
