NELS0N 457
Here's a little 5 yard stoppy i've knitted over the xmas break. Made from 20/12 spun poly, 41/2" full mesh, 15 mesh deep plus a 20/24 selvage. 100% slack and a good belly, should be a fine killing net 12 Quote Link to post

Mr Goodcat 69
I'm sure you will catch many in that one mate ;-) I didn't know those twines were available in any other colours than green and brown. Quote Link to post

It should wrap them up nicely. That twine was part of a sample spool sent to me, dying spun poly is the expensive part of the process as it needs to be heated to high temperature to open the fibres to take the dye. The natural white is much cheaper Quote Link to post
Mr Wilkes 3,163
A perfect little catch net. 1 Quote Link to post

Especially when the boss found out I was using her stock pot :-)) 2 Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
I have had some success dying spun poly, it never comes out the shade that the dye states but it will take a lighter shade. You have to use what is known as a dysperse dye available from Kemtex if you ring them up and tell him what you want it for he will send you a sample. My sample was enough to dye 150 yards of net . You have to boil the net for at least half an hour then rinse well, the boiling will not harm the spun poly. Before dying. After dying when still wet. When dried out the final colour. The colour I used was DYSPERSE LINCOLN GREEN EGB 1418 TC 4 Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
I am not sure, if you look at the link in the post, http://www.kemtex.co.uk/dispersedyes.html it shows up next to the Lincoln green. It calls it the product number in the link. TC Edited January 3, 2015 by tiercel Quote Link to post

I need to find 2 suitable greens for the 20/9 20/12 and get a pantone number, the problem will be matching the pantones to the bight colours for the 20/24 Quote Link to post
