Jax13 251
finally got out for the first time with the two jills today. i gave up with the smaller of the two as she slipped the collar twice and once i wrangled it onto the slightly larger one it stayed put but i weas concerned it was maybe a tad tight. so, how tight is too tight for a collar? got the first one of my career in the bag after less than a minute of chucking her into the second set of holes i tried so i'm pretty chuffed and now extremely eager to get out with the big hob and the other jill to give them a taste of kicking bunny a few more times this year so i will be ready to go when the season starts next year. pie-eater 377
You do need the collars on fairly tight last thing you want is a ferret slipping the collar off underground. Its worth making extra holes in the collars to get them just right for the size of the ferrets neck. 1 Quote Link to post
krawnden 1,036
If you can turn it on the ferret's neck but not pull it off it's just right. Don't have it so tight that you can't turn it. Quote Link to post
The one 8,571
Try it on the ferret in a shed or garage and see it's alright and wears it for a bit before you remove it , as said you can punch extra holes in the collar with a nail,as there's nothing worse than a six foot dig just to retrieve a collar 1 Quote Link to post
