Stainless Steel, Barrel Mole Trap

Heard Flatpack are producing a barrel trap,which is all stainless steel,including the loops,springs,triggers, etc.I can see the appeal,anyone using them ?

I trailed a few during development and can't see any benefit.

 

Yes they won't corrode but neither will a good quality barrel trap and as with all metals the springs will weaken over time with use.

So for the added expense there's no benefit. IMO

IMO they need tuning finer than the standard trap as the springs are more powerful..or should i say the springs 'feel' more powerful to me, but it might just be in my head! ha.IMO

So you haven't tried the knuckle test at 8am on a really cold morning

No, what i mean is, IF the springs are more powerful then , it is my belief, that the trap must be set finer for Mr Mole to trigger it with as least resistance as possible,...but i could be wrong, I usually am ha ha

'trigger sensitivity' on duffus type mole traps,would be an interesting discussion,for me,....lol.But im a bit reluctant,to educate the 'up & comings' so i wont bother.They thiink theyre going to find everything out, (you need to know) on those "training" courses, at the "register & guild" . (i wouldnt bet on it !)

I agree they seem stronger

I just love them because they are shiny and look nice.....bit sad but shiny mole traps ,dogs and women are the same ,they all do the same job but it's nice to have a good looking one
