Guest Ditch_Shitter
I can barely believe these sorts of posts we're seeing these days. I mean, what next? " Here I am. I've found ye and pumped a few lines into my key board. Now GIVE ME Permission. Answers. A girlfriend with big tits, who swallows and says it's good for her hair. Somewhere to try and palm off the mongrels me and my mate just bred. F*ck the Moddies ~ Where's my thread gone?! Oh; And you're all kuntz. I'm off! Expect me back, just as soon as I can reregister under another handle, when I'll bad mouth this place all over again. " ? This sort of shit makes 'Closed' fora seem like a reasonable idea Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
First, get insured (not really necessary for ferreting but the land owners like it), if you already have any permisson get a written reference and then go and see landowners. Remember not just farmers own land, in my experience its easier to get livery yards or other horsey people to agree in the begining and then use them as references for bigger landowners. Once you have got it you have to keep it. That means being helpful and NOT taking the p*ss. Respect the stock and boundaries, close gates, always call before going etc. Remember its not yours, you cant give other people permission and should ask before taking anyone else with you. its also a good idea to offer them some of your catch, offer to skin and gut it too. No one has ever taken me up on this but people appreciate it. Hope this helps, Happy Hunting!!! Quote Link to post

Guest Magwitch
maybe volunteer yourself for a bit of beating at one of the local shoots, normally once you get your foot in the door it snowballs but farmers need to gain your trust Quote Link to post

COMPO 54
sound advice above, just to add i ferret twice a week from august to march and my land consists of a livery stables, a farm owned for a ladies horses , a goat farm, a large garden on a country house, and a small sheep farm (although he no longer owns any sheep and just rents the grazing) and a couple of fields around a builders yard (i also have shooting rights on 3 of those above) my ferreting partner has permission on an allotment area and a private school grounds....as you can see i dont spend long on farms or with farmers but have lots of land to keep me going, and my average catch of rabbits is 15 per outing, so i aren't scratching about for a few bunnies on each occasion think alternative routes and good luck, my ferreting partner will be soon asking on a golf course next to the private school....
