Hi How Old Does A Ferret Have To Be Before You Can Start Working It

I normally let them have the first season in the hutch but in times of need I have had them working around 7-8months but in this case always introduced them with an older working ferret

Don't normally start mine till 6 months,however I kept a large hob back this year ,took himout at 17 weeks tried him in a few small ones,killed two in stop ends and walked back out looking pleased with himself :yes: as I said though,he is a big lad,the jill I kept from the same litter wont see a bury for a while :thumbs:

6 months is when i would start working them but only on easy buries. They won't learn anything sat in the hutch at home.

start mines when there ready if there born may june get them young rabbs late aug with there mother but all ferrets are diffrent ,some ive saw second season others work the minute there 4 or 5 months, all diffrent ,so many pet ones about now that the good working blood is diluted at times so some never make it
