J Darcy 5,871
Canadian made, this Bg is much bigger than our 110's and obviously designed for bigger critters. Unlike our BG the trap suitcases onto the unfortunate victim. Just thought i'd post the pics in case anyone had any interest.....JD 1 Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
Sorry to sound stupid, but how the hell does this work? Does the animal hit the plate with its head, or step on it? Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
The critter steps on the plate and that closes the jaws with power. This is not a legal trap in the UK, obviously. Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
So im guessing you set it side on? And what would be its equivalent size in normal BG size? 220, 260 Or 330? Quote Link to post
ratbuster 807
Found this about setting one (smaller version) Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
its a completely different trap mate. Quote Link to post
EDDIE B 3,142
its a completely different trap mate. What make of trap is it lad? Did you buy it? Those Canadian's make some powerful traps! Quote Link to post
ratbuster 807
JD, you're completely right, but the principle is the same. The killing arm comes sideways, isn't it. Yours is the KORO # 1 (Bigger, much more powerful, intended for larger game,) http://www.wcscanadastore.com/Koro-Traps_c_83.html Edited October 6, 2014 by ratbuster Quote Link to post

I have all the koro sizes and whilst they are a powerful trap they have flaws that can/could result in foul catches. 1 Quote Link to post
ratbuster 807
Right, I wasn't comparing the KORO with the BG, but referring to the small KORO's versus the bigger models. The design of the BG is better if I do understand you correctly. Never too old learn a thing or two about the multitude of traps As i have a lot of family living in Canada, I wanted to order a couple of the smaller ones to have send over. looks like a good rat trap to me, the one in the youtube film Quote Link to post

Is it true that the cost of shipping from Canada is ridiculous? I hear its much more expensive than shipping from the USA! Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
It's not cheap..i've shipped a few over and they work out bloody expensive in the end.... Quote Link to post
ratbuster 807
To be honest, I don't have a clue about the cost of having them send over . My Brother in law is planning to come over to visit his mum, who's still living in the Netherlands, could ask him to put a few in his suitcase Thought they weren't that expensive between 10 and 14 dollars a piece , and thats Canadian dollar Edited October 6, 2014 by ratbuster Quote Link to post

He went to three different stores, and they all said the same thing! You have to produce a trapping licence to purchase traps! I ended up getting them shipped from the USA after, and turned out pricey enough! Quote Link to post
ratbuster 807
You have to produce a trapping licence to purchase traps! So much wiser now ! Thanks for enlightening me. Does this count for all Canadian provinces ? One lives in the Yukon, the other in BC Quote Link to post
