Wee Walk

Recommended Posts

Never had the dog at work with me this morning so since it was such a nice morning and I was finished the back of 8 i decided to take the dog a walk over some permission ive got.not been on it all summer so when was getting in the car decided bugger it and grabbed a wee Jill to see if we coukd get a cheeky bolt or two for the dog.

Got there to find the farmer working in the field I had in mind so had a walk over for a chat.the boys brand new and was chuffed to see me..during our blether he told me that between the field he was in and the neighbouring field there was three hedgerows and he assured me that when cutting it he saw easily between 70/80 rabbits and told me to get wired in this winter.

So off I went with a cheeky smile on my face to do a few wee sets and see what was about...........was only out an hour but what a disappointment, there was a couple big sets I left since I was on my own.there was hardly any signs, few fresh holes and not a thing at home in any the wee sets.plodded of back towards the car when the dog was off like a shot and nailed a rabbit on the edge of the field.just when I was thinking least the ferrets will have a rabbit noticed the poor thing was totally f*cked with myxi!!! Absolutley gutted, thats nearly all my prem got it this year, apart from on or two little spots? gutted,,,could be a slow winter for me

i hate to see them dying like that and its gutting when you find it on your perm if i have a young dog on i run them on them to firstly put the poor feckers out there misery and secondly to also put a bit of fur in the pups mouth and a bit confidence in a pup
