Had Stubby and Ali out with me this morning doing a little farm with not many rabbits on to be honest, we did two rather small sets one was around twelve holes the other about seven. the first set produced three rabbits but one slipped the net, the other set we bolted three more. We moved on to a bit pasture and it went down hill from there, we had a 3ft dig and nothing would bolt, so we tried a nearby hedgerow but still couldn't get anything to move so we called it a day. Only five rabbits but what a good morning and good company

looks a nice morning out.... got any pictures or a guide of how you gut your rabbits...?

I was taught by a old poacher called Inan

1/ pee the rabbit

2/ with a sharp knife pinch the fur over the rib cage and cut a small nick so you can pull the fur back to reveal the skin on the belly

3/ again make a small nick just before were the ribs end so you can put your finger in

4/ put your finger in the hole and pull back revealing the gut

5/ then pull the poo bag out with all the rest of the nasty stuff in one go with your two fore fingers

we've gutted 50 rabbits like this in minutes

another good day magwitch :signthankspin: the ferts enjoyed themselves and was good to test out the mk3 more, each time its used I get more confident of it

also good to try those poles out on the 25yd'er, enjoy the ease of longnetting, although it's great when 2 bunnies hit the purse net's at same time, and its all hands on deck

looking forward to next weekend, I'll pm you the postcode so you can google earth the paddock, lots of hedges by the look of it, deffo longnet time

heres a couple I took, ali enjoyed it, even as it was her birthday and she was itching to get home to pressies

you forgot to mention on the skinning, hold their front feet down with your foot while cutting and gutting
