Guest SJM
What you are describing sounds to me like agoraphobia Have battled with it on and off for years myself so I can totally relate to what youve written. I would rather spend all day with my dogs, out in the hills, having nowt to do with anybody and have no money and hardly anything in my cupboards, than have to go out to work every day and mix with people and feel the pressures of todays hectic society. Agoraphobia is a very misunderstood condition. It comes from a greek word meaning "market place" and phobia - fear of. In ancient Greece the market place would have been a busy central point where men would stand and wait to be hired for the day, as well as a place to buy/sell/barter goods. It would perhaps have had all the stresses and strains of modern day society just in different ways, must have been stresfull or there wouldnt be a condition named after it One of the best ways to combat agoraphobic feelings is a technique called "NLP" which is basically brain reprogramming. When you succumb to agoraphobic feelings and allow yourself to fall under their control, you lose your confidence, your self beleif and it becomes easier to avoid things which cause us stress or make us feel uncomfortable than it is to face them head on. Hypnotherapy is also helpful. I wouldnt bother with the drugs, as the song goes - they dont work, and very often if they put you on high doses of tranquilisers etc you end up feeling more spaced out and less in touch with reality, or if they put you on anti depressants it can make you go the other way so your so high you cant sleep, eat etc. Natural ways of working things out - talking, stress reducing therapies, exercise etc is a much better way to help "cure" yourself. If you ever need to talk Im appointing myself the forums psychotherapist for this week so feel free to bend my ear a bit, Ive been there and can maybe share some tips that have helped me over the years
Scallywag 78
Lots of really good advice from everyone but personally I think it's best not to diagnose people on the basis of a paragraph on a website.... just my opinion

SNAP SHOT 194
Say to yourself, you need the money,it's only 8 hours or whatever and at quiting time leave your work behind you and enjoy your free time doing what you love....my job is pretty stressfull and there are times when i have trouble sleeping....... but i just leave it behind me now, at the doors of work, do'nt take life so serious either, as we won't be here forever..... take one day at a time......best of luck. NOW GET TO WORK TOMORROW................
littlefish 598
Hope your first day went ok, sometimes worriyng about things beforehand make things seem worse that what they actually turn out. Also, i think if you have not been used to mixing much with people in a work environment much recently, since you gave up your job, you lose the social skills of chatting and just generally getting along with others, especially people you are meeting for the first time. You are so young with so many options, look around - you may see something else you could see yourself doing to earn your crusts....
valentino 0
well, thanks for the support from everyone.... like i think i already stated, im fine...confident buzzing young lad, but the thought of full time job over the last few months has been unbeliveably stressful for me.....this happened out of the blue, for no reason, and i used to like going to work...so thats why i cant understand it....... anyway, i never went to that job,....however i have signed up 15 of my old clients over the weekend that i train and i will sign another 5 this coming week....so im just going to take things steady and 'put things right' as its up to me to thanks again valentino
