he was offered places at Cheltenham town, wolves and birmingham mate.he took up the blues 2 year offer because he really enjoyed the set up there and the goal keeping set up is a lot more intense on the training side which he enjoys.he played for west brom development squad last season and even played in Barcelona for them in april but made his own mind up where he wanted to go.

will be mad watching him play against teams like man city, chelsea etc this season.makes me very proud indeed.

That's brilliant mate, good luck to him......better than all that egg chasing ;)

They have a youth development system in my local Ryman side.......my little lad is with the mini's but nothing like that.

Well done that man

my old man done his apprenticeship at aston villa and went on from there back in them days no big money just cleaned the first teams boots and lived in a house with four other lads reckons best days of his life moved on and played for west brom and brimingham before the big money rolled in a bit mad me and my bro are rugby players but the old man spose to be a good striker in his day offered loads of scouting jobs but rather be home with the family

Good stuff Mouse hope the lad sticks at it  .....got a couple of pals with boys on the books of Leyton Orient ( as my lad was at one point but never made the grade )......another mate has a boy at Arsenals academy.......one of only 6 English kids out of 45 + kids i hasten to add :whistling:

I think the days of promising local youngsters coming through the ranks at big clubs is a thing of the past sadly......its probably the smaller clubs who will see the benefit of local talent over the coming years......the downside of that is the coaching quality at that level just isnt there.
