COMPO 54
Its a dangerous precedent if people start offering money, some farmers (most) are tight money grabbers. I am a generous person so cards and an occasional bottle of wine/whisky isn't beyond me. But its pest control I offer and I'm good at it. If I was paying I would want exclusivity and a lot of game. It has creeped in with rough and pigeon shooting, don't let it creep in with rabbitting 3 Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
Got plenty of permission for free but there's abit of land I went on last year by invite from others where we paid the landowner for the day that was worth it and i hope I get an invite back this season. Quote Link to post
Guest vin
We all pay in some way or another. I paid into a syndicate for the ferreting rights etc etc. . . turned out OK apart from a few empty promises that were never met from the initial meetings.. But for a person with no land and no permission..Its a way forward. we have lots of permissions in quite a few areas these days . . .But they have been hard earned. Sometimes you get the odd one that will be willing to pay you for your time and expenses. . . I like these types of Jobs. Quote Link to post
Tozer 385
For pest control this scares me, it is worrying to see it become the norm. I do the odd days labouring, shifting bales etc but thats just swings and roundabouts. Quote Link to post
