Hawke Panorama - A Little Advice Please..

Recommended Posts

I wish. One more thing about the Hawke brand; their after sales service is spot on. I haven't used them for anything other than getting a case for my binoculars that I lost but I have read so much about how quick they are to look after us customers. MTC also have good rep in that department.

So I bit the bullet today... (I'm full of these shooting related puns) & ordered a Hawke Panorama, I went for the 3-9 x 40 AO with half mil dot reticle.

I'll let you know how I get on with it once she's arrived! ;)

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I have both Hawke Panorama EV AO 40 and 50mm scopes on my sub-12 ft/lb HW spring rifles and they are bloody superb little optics for air rifles. I honestly cannot find a fault with these two scopes and have no hesitation in recommending them.

I do, however, own a NIKON FIELDMASTER 6-18X40 target scope. The reticle is a very thin, micro-fine crosshair meeting at a very fine dot. When you fine tune your zero and place this dot on your target...you hit it...and you'll keep on hitting it till the cows come home! It is an incredible scope. It cost over £400 but, it is utterly superb for all situations in target hunting.

Simmons Whitetail classic are an amazing second hand bargain now. Bushnell are worthy of mention too. I've had some great scopes in the past from their Banner series. Their Scopechief series was fantastic too. Still have the 4-14x50mm Scopechief on my HW77 .22. Absolutely awesome accuracy.

Hi Rez, I felt I got enough positive feedback to justify buying the panorama! ;)

But don't panic... I'm still in the market for a couple more scopes & "just for you" I'll mix it up and try some other brands. Seen a lovely MTC mamba lite with AO turret on the side, it's a few quid but hopefully worth every penny.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your response, you've given me even more confidence in my purchase. Really looking forward to my panorama arriving, then the question is... What springer do I put it on? The choices are 95k, 97k, 80k or TX200!

I'll take a look at the other scopes you suggested.

The Panorama is due to arrive today, think i'll stick it on the 95k and give it a go tonight if I get the chance.

Looking forward to trying out one of these scopes for myself, I'll let you know how I get on with it.
