Gaz_1989 9,539
Can't fault you pal. She may of come good with time but equally she might not. She sounds worlds apart from her sister. She's been finding rabbits with her nose from about 5 months and has chased ANYTHING with some serious conviction from as young as I can remember. 1 Quote Link to post
pip1968 2,490
you cant put up with a dog that has no drive it starts grinding on you and the more you have the dog the more you begin to hate it so i think its best for you and the dog to part company 2 Quote Link to post
Qbgrey 4,386
fair enough ,i find dogs that see lots of work in daytime will pick there runs, they get to know its no point chasing a bun rabb near the hedge, but at night i expect them to run down the beam searching for the rabbit in distance.as for hedge splitters i find they spend more time laid up than out lamping.....but ive also done what your post says, you get a feeling for the dog,i had a collie/bull/grey from a guy off here ,he spoke a good run,but i found out it was all shite, dog left my company Quote Link to post
Fennster16 29
Fair enough... if you dont clink you dont clink, at least she went to a good home who has more time to bring her one etc and not just abandoned somewhere Quote Link to post
jf1970 328
yep no point keeping a dog if it doesn't suit your style of hunting, it will only start to become a chore when taking it out and imo you will never bond with it, as long as you were truthful when selling/passing it on and the other lad is happy enough.
