celticrusader I was not hinting at you, I was simply stating that the HMR is well capable for fox out to 150+ yards. now to those who think its not, if you have a HMR I think you need to get out and use your gun because you don't know what it is capable of and for those who don't own one, try one before you judge.

Me and Billy (kruby01) Got these 2 today about 35-40 yards shot mum first then cub. The cub didn't have a clue. What a cracking little round the .17hmr is.

Just got back after a couple hours on the foxes. Didnt see any so went to a new permission to lamp rabbits. Never been lamped before grabbed the .22lr out of the boot and switched lamp off hmr onto .2

sharpshooter25 if you cant drop a fox stone dead at 100-150 yards with the HMR I think you need to change your name. windage shouldn't be a problem its a HMR, don't shoot it in strong winds.

I didn't think you were and no offence was taken and I do completely agree, truth be told I dont think many people will use a rifle to its fullest of potential as its rarely needed but if they do I think we would find its more than likely rimfire owners rather than centerfire owners.

That said i was just considering the limitations of distance and power of one compared to the other.
