Travelling From London To Tenby In Wales

got a scooter run in couple weeks to tenby but we got a few L plates coming as well,anyone have any idea what the route is like not being able to use motorways its a long haul just be nice to know what we letting ourselfs in for,works out about 245 miles taking 5 hours 50 min ish :laugh:

we will be crossing over to monmouth on the A40 from gloucester the part of the route im interested in is from Abergavenny down to Tenby cheers :thumbs:

Its mostly single and double carriageway now but you still get the winding roads in some places. Not a bad route for some nice scenery though. :thumbs:

the other thing mate of mine reckons there is access across the old severn crossing M48 but iv used this route for chepstow few times yeaqrs ago and dont recall you being able to do that if someone can confirm it is motorway only cheers

Still classed as a motorway as far as I'm aware, you'll have to take the A40 around Gloucester to Monmouth.

From Abergavenny follow the A40 through Brecon to Saint Clears. Its non motorway dual carriageway from Carmarthen to St Clears, at the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway take first left on the A477 to Tenby.

If you get offered a caravan in Kiln Park in Tenby first week of May, take it. I think that's when they have a big barbecue and hog roast, free if you're staying in a caravan there :thumbs: (hoping to be there myself if my mate invites me down lol )

my missus works for their head office wich is based here in town,bank holiday difficult to get our usual freebe :laugh: ,she will see what she can do,nice park been there many times over the years and tenby itself is a cracking place cheers
