Dogs Needing A Extra Lepto Jab?

i took the dog to the vets friday for his annual booster, and free health check lol. once the vet had given my dog his booster she then informs me that i have to go back in four weeks for a secound jab. (by now i am thinking yeah right how much is that going to fecking cost?) anyway she informs me that there is no extra charge for the jab but due to new strains of leptospyrosis in the area the jab is a must.

 

its a new one on me. has anybody else herd of the extra jab needed to be done? hes 3 years old and upto date with his jabs.

I heard this prior to getting my pup jabd, he also went back for a booster, free of charge. Didnt ask why, just thought if its free why not.

Maybe Sandy, Paulus, ken , might have heard or know something about it .? there up on jabs med things etc .

i know pups go back for a secound shot mate. but never known a adult dog whos upto date with all his jabs needing to go for a secound shot with his booster.

vet told me the same when I took my bitch for a booster last week but the second jab is subsidised and costs a tenner but they are fully vaccinated without it but recommend going back for the 2nd one in four weeks time
