sniffer 167
Went out last night for a shine with 2 mates had a good few run's killed 2 big bunny's and 7 normal size bunny's we carefully pugged these in a hedge for our return home and left 2 at a gate where we enterd the feild's, anyhow on our return we see the boys in blue waiting at our lamping moter and no way to escape So off we go in the back of a landrover to the nearest nick sat there till 5 in the morning we where took at 10.20 interveiwed we all gave name adress and detail's then NO COMMENT they showed us all picture's of the 2 bunny's they had found at the frontgate still NO COMMENT we have all been bailed till the end of november IN CONNECTION WITH AN OFFENCE OF HUNTING WILD ANIMAL'S WITH DOG'S and confiscated all our lamp's and slip leads....What do you fellows reckon the outcome of this will be ? I thought rabbit's where vermin and exemt from the hunting ban or will poaching change this ruling as the police seem to think ? i reckon a little fine and loss of my lamp what do you lads reckon looking forward to some good advice
Simoman 110
You need writen permission with you for it to be legal taking rabbits, did you have it?

Guest artic monkey
Do you have any previous? Why the no comment? That was your chance to tell your story, if this goes to court now and you reply to the magistrate then this will be admissable!! You must of been under caution in interview and asked if you understood the caution? What did you say? Good Luck.....
lucky 578
you'll probably just get away with a fine, once they've had a few quid off you that will be that, the law, goverment etc are'nt after anything nowadays except money, it's big buisness now and with the new laws they bring out everyday there onto a winner. somebodys got to pay for there big cars and big mortgages....not to mention the prostitutes and rent boys even. ferret15 0
it also depends on how many dog you had with you. as said if you were poaching it doesn't matter weather it legal or not its a bit like having a mot and tax but no insurance the other two are not worth the paper they are written on if you don't have all three. Simoman 110
Legal poaching ferret15, isn't that an oxymoron?
BULLWHIP 0
if you had just give a quick explanation you were only walking dogs and stuck too it maybe youd have a chance to deny it,my friends did few month back, never even locked them up.i would have been sending dogs and lamp with a lad other way.if your permission is near you could say you were lost and thought you were covered. good luck at court! boris b 1
2 rabbits mean nothing , you still need concrete evidence in this country to get a conviction , you did the right thing keeping mute . get on the fella out of edrd he will put you right on the defence front . works on legal aid as well . Guest SJM
Did you not spot the police before you got back to your motor and put your lamp off and take off in the dark? They are paid to do stuff like chase petty criminals around in the dark, if it was me I would be making sure the working tax payers get their moneys worth I cant advise you as I have been fortunate enough to have never been caught red handed so to speak, allthough I have been cautioned and charged, but always after the event, the police would have to hunt me down in the pitch black with a thermal imaging helicopter if they want me to go anywhere with them in a landrover I have to say if you hadnt been lamping big bunnies then they might go a bit easier on you, you could maybe sweet talk your way out of it with rabbits not being outlawed, you might have just being looking at a trespassing or in search and pursuit charge (sorry Im not up to scratch on the current laws as its been a while since Ive had any hassle ) maybe you should run the big bunnies during the day when they have a bit more of a sporting chance of getting away
ChrisJones 7,975
Admitting to it here isn't going to do your case any good. You do know these can used in evidence?
greatwhitehunter 47
your not doing anything wrong till you get caught, so dont get caught and you wont be doing anything wrong
ferreterno1 0
i dont think they can do anything, they didnt find you in possession of any rabbits just because they found two didnt mean they were yours they might do you for tresspass though
boris b 1
tresspass is a civil offence , so the please would not get invovled for that .
