Themoocher 231
Jungle boots are the way to go imo cool, light and water proof. if desert boots get wet through they wont dry off on your feet for a long time, and if your out for a very long time and it'll be a pain in the arse. I learned that the hard way on a summer time survival course a couple of year ago on the downside they will need polishing. Jungle boots. Are ok mate. Use wear them on camp and grizz some exercises out with them. Only thing is in uk if it's damp ur feet will be piss wet through straight away. they're more waterproof than any deserts I've had. and bornhunter; you may not think wet feet is a problem now but give it a couple of hours in the field with your feet literally piss wet through from just walking in damp long grass,it is worth investing. or maybe you just need to learn the hard way lol Issued jungle boots you havin a laugh? To be honest mate I was in the army and my honest opinion for what it's worth. Wear desert boots in the desert Wear jungle boots in the trees (jungle) Wear pro boots or cold weather issue in arctic. Wear normal in uk and temperate conditions. You do it any other way and it's a pain in the arse. Quote Link to post

Neither are ideal but I'd sooner wear trainers if the grounds a bit wet than deserts. Quote Link to post

Yeah jungles have two holes in them at side to let the water out and made of cloth meterial on sides.I'm the same I would nt advise to wear either. They are ok for the gardening or doing a oil change in the garage lol I wouldn't even wear them in the summer morning when you have bit morning due. If I was wanting cheap summer boot I would go for cheap light gore tex KSB or berghuas. Edited April 4, 2014 by Themoocher Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,907
What size are your Dovres?? How long have you had them.. Fancy giving them a good home LOL nice try mate. They hadn't had much wear at all really, a seasons light use. I flogged em to my bro for 70 quid. f**k knows if that was a fair price but we're both happy at that. 1 Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
£70 was a fair price, very fair Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,907
Themoocher, I appreciate your opinion mate. Only reason I'm erring away from what you're suggesting is because I'm not convinced Gortex is very breathable. In the summer all I want to do with all weather boots on is take the f***ing things off, lol. Like I said, I just really want a boot for general summer wear in dry summer conditions. Any hint of potentially wet conditions and I'll don the Chammies. I'm quite simply looking for something more robust to replace my usual summer footwear of old trainers. Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,907
£70 was a fair price, very fair I thought so, but saved me the aggro of selling them privately................ having said that, I haven't seen the b*****ds wonga yet. LOL Quote Link to post
ChrisJones 7,975
Not sure what your price range is BH, but have a look at some of the desert offerings from Danner, Blackhawk, 5.11, Under Armor and even Reebok and Converse. They sell hot weather gear out this way, and steer clear of the GoreTex lining if you want hot weather boots. Once the GT get's manky that stink will never leave! I found out the hard way. 1 Quote Link to post
