Record Sea Trout From The Late 80S

Recommended Posts

That fish looks as if it is a typsy dail we call them in welsh translated it means stupid leaves. A fish that has run up a larger river in the spring stayed in a deep pool all summer then drops back to the sea in october and then runs a smaller river to spawn. I am not sure if the leaves part is referance to the colour of the fish or the fact that they do it in autum.

the yorks esk is about 30 miles long ! two miles from the sea it becomes freshwater, the river narrows to a very small stream in most places, where he caught the fish was in a tidal section where when the tide drops it leaves very narrow rapids,he caught the fish as the pools fill up off the tide,it was rare to have coloured fish that far down but it did happen from time to time......

perthshire keeper yeah it was 20 summit pound mate yer say yer seen one in a net off the coast yeah? well the Tyne gets many big sea trout every year, funny thing is they seem to run the south Tyne most the sea trout, dont get me wrong they a good few in the tyne system but ive always cored well at haltwhistle and alston areas, i seen some big sea trout well over the 20 lb bracket at slaggyford in the spawning bescks ( on the redds) but the river Wear is better for sea trout or used to be they dwindled a bit over the years and the wear is becomeing a salmon river rather than sea trout, ive had some clonkers from the wear and seen record fish many times but as yer know the wear is hammered by (big rod) men snatchers on framwelgate waterside, ive got a foto at me mates il dig it out and post it on here its 24lb well before roy caught his early-middle 80s,i got a 21lb sea trout in 1989 aswell ill post when i get the pictures

In the comber river where I fish. There's sea trout well into double figures that run it and have been seen by many people,

was the comber river not polluted last year or has it made it back always wanted to fish it but thought it was a waste of time.
