DenBell 149
Got papers signed for new farm permission and couldn't really be bothered tonight but with 4 permissions on the go got to try and get out as much as possible. got to the farm at 9 and zeroed at 27 yards, it was stupidly windy so wasn't too hopeful but thought it would be a good reconnaissance mission if nothing else. i had a lot of ground to cover and set off. every one of the fields i went in and shone the light in were full of rabbits but with the wind i wasn't going to take any long shots. 2nd field i went into stuck to the edge and shone light around the field picked up eyes 50-60 yards away. stalked to within 20 yards and the rabbit still just lay in the middle of the field, i went prone to give me best chance of staying steady. the rabbit was facing me head on, wind was left to right and even at 20 yards it required 3 mil dots to the right!! thwack, straight over. next few fields saw plenty but some nicked off when i put the lamp on them and others i scared while hopping fences or trying to get too close (within 10 yards of one before it went). one of the fields slopes down toward a private road that leads to the farm and i was walking along the road so i didn't have to keep jumping fences, i shone the light into the field and sitting at the top of the hill was a rabbit facing me so again i went prone and shot it up through the neck/bottom of the head into the brain. again it was about 20 yards and 3 mil dots to the right. cant wait to get back up on a better night 2 Quote Link to post

Just put that twink on, just need to get it taped so it blends in with the rest of the rifle. little hunter looks like he'll be a threat to your crown, the way he was hitting targets with open sights on a springer!! Haha I know, been there myself and it's trying to do the math of wind speed and mil dots... Sometimes trial and error if my head is messed up lol. Maybe scribble it down at night and review it in the morning? I enjoyed it, as I said but didn't really see anything to fault. I'd do it myself but people enjoy pictures and I lack the artistic ability to take anything decent Keep it coming mate White Quote Link to post

WhiteRabbit 112
Aye, I try my best but I try not to miss and end up spooking any quarry as much as the weather already does. Swings and round abouts but it what makes hunting all that more challenging. When's your next outing? White Quote Link to post
