Rabbits, Pigeon Inc Feral And Squirrel - Which Sub 12 Cal ?

Recommended Posts

I use .177 for two reasons.

1, the flatter trajectory is a little more forgiving if you are a few yards out on the range estimation.

2, the pellet gets to the target that little bit quicker giving it less chance of flinching out of the way.

I have .177 already and fancied a second sub 12ftlb rifle for the same jobs really as the .177 (General all rounder).

I already had my .177 tube PCP and was looking at a .22 spring and piston SFS rifle to mix it up a bit, but last week I spotted a .22 Daystate Air Ranger 2 years old so I've gone for that. It was a great deal and it's a bottle PCP, lovely trigger and it's running on falcon accuracy plus pellets, so I've just cleaned the barrel through and washed and lubed 500 falcons, tomorrow I will weigh them out into batches ready for zeroing and range work.

It's going to be fun learning the .22 trajectory as I haven't shot a .22 in 15+ years! Then it's first quarry will be looked for (summer bunnys or pigeon over decoys)
