Bitting Ferrets

hi I have two new 9months old jill's and there bitting most of the time I pick them up,and weird I wont able to put there collar on. any help.? thanks

ye just nipping. one nipps more than the other. I've always had older and trained ferrets before so im not sure when I should be taking them out.?

If it was nipping me i would be handling it more and getting it out as often as possible to burn up some of its energy

When you put your hand in clench your fist, it doesn't hurt as much and they soon learn that they get no reaction.

Carry them everywhere for a while,, around the garden,, in the house,, they need handling,, nothing else Play with them,, they are probaly just bored young ferrets,

When you put your hand in clench your fist, it doesn't hurt as much and they soon learn that they get no reaction.

That's a good starting point; the pulling away in a jerky fashion just makes you look like 'prey' you need to take a few nips and just handle them non stop they soon came down.

 

I can never get ferrets to not tug at my socks in the house though if I'm bare foot mind....
