As most of you know by now, I have some of those critters as pets. But are there any more of you on this forum ?¿?¿

And if so, what do you have.

And for the ones that dont have any, tell us why.

Been there. Done that. Got it out of my system, mate. Only it was more Amphibians with me. I had some lizards and a few snakes. The big snakes simply never appealed to me. I guess because, quite simply, I could've had One Retic' or (later, after they became flavour of the month) Burmese. One snake. One huge, space taking, otherwise emty, tank. Or else fifty smaller tanks, each containing a perfect little enviroment and god knows what fasinating ~ and breeding ~ creatures.

I won't even try to start going into the lists of what I kept and bred at the peak of my career. Suffice to say that the Captive Breeding of anything I could get my hands on was the pinnacle of my aim. And the pinacle of my success was the totally successful breeding of a Chinese form of newt which only a couple of people had ever managed before. And those selfish b*stards were keeping the secret entirely to themselves. (How come I feel like I've told ye this before? ) I published it in an international Herpotologists magazine and also passed my findings over to the British Herpotological Society. I actually still have the letters, from Doctors in Russia and Poland, addressing me as " Dr. Shitter " and astoundedly asking how in hell I pulled it off, when it was a mystery some of the greatest minds in the game couldn't unravel.

Anyway, I have to say; Ever watched two Fire Salamanders at it? I have. Inches from my face in their own, tiny little biosphere which I'd created for them. The MOST Erotic thing I've ever whitnessed in my life! :icon_eek: Two black and yellow, stubby little amphibians, all shiney and bright, writhing and twisting and clambouring over eachother in a slow dance that was Purest Sex! Never mind the much vaunted scene from " Don't Look Now ". This was Horr Nayy!!! In fact, I was almost late for work, as I remember! :icon_redface:

Anyway ......

Corn snakes are easy to look after and handle.......Also had some experience with Kingsnakes and ratsnakes, but a corn would be good.

thanks mate wat sort of condition do they need to live in i.e temperature, food, lights.

Make sure you have a basking end and a cooler end, read up first to get a better understanding. Depending on the size of the snake it wil eat pinkies or mice. I have used aspen as a bedding, make sure you have plenty of hides and a water bowl for the snake to submerge in, also a cover over your heat bulb (don't get a heat rock or mat). The snake will also benefit from a low level uv light.
