Crossbows

i have been offered a crossbow for £30 the lad says its firing at 150 foot pounds now i no nothing about regulations for things like this but would i need a fire arms or any other certificate to be on permission with something like this

You sure it's 150 ftlbs energy and not 150 lb draw weight? Either way it's legal, you're fine.
