fill it up to the stated bar, get a chrono read out at a shop or do them yourself, look along the powers you'll find a spot at the begining where they become more consistant at around the power you set it to/it should be set too.(thats your usable shots..anything outside the better band isnt worth fillig to and anything below the band at the empty end isnt worth shooting eather.. theres your full and empty mark.)

 

count the total amount of shots all together (not just the usuable ones).

 

say its 100 shots for arguements sake, and say the fill bar is 200, and the empty end that you shot to was 50 bar (put your fill gear on and gently open the valve and read of what it sais the moment the neadle kicks in when the guns 'empty).

 

200-50 = 150bar used for 100 shots.

 

150/ 100shots = 1.5bar. (1.5bar per shot)

 

have a look at the string print out and deside where you want the to fill the gun to, e.g. guns set at 11.5fp's, read goes 10.75, 10.9, 11.2, 10.7, so far they aint cnsistant, 11.3, 11.34,11.4, 11.4, 11.3, etc, theyve become 'cosistant' or more consistant than the first few shots. same thing happens at the empty end, or what you'll shoot down to. (at a power curve peek it'll be the set 11.5 fps then start to drop, on a regged gun it usualy just drops, so would start at 11.5 ish inconsitantly then get consistant then drop in power slowly) so 11.4, 11.35, 11.3 11.2 10.8, 10.2, 11.1, 10.3... just as an example.

 

count in the shots from the first chrono reading, say the first 5 are all over the place, take 5 off a hundred.

then count the bum shots at the empty end..say 5 for ease of maths here lol..take that 5 of the 95 remaining, you have 90 usuable shots.

 

the fill too limit on your particular gauge (they all vary a touch) is 5 (naff shots) times 1.5bar (bar per shot) = 7.5bar.

take the naf shot bar total away from the said 200 bar on the cycliner and fill to 200-7.5bar = 192.5bar (193..to round up).

you have 90 shots or 9x10shot mags to shoot before a refill.

 

why bother with this? your waisting 5 pellets and 5 lots of air, times that over a year its a couple bottle fills and a couple box's of pellets...over 5 years its more and so on,

 

if your noddy shooting to 25 meter it wont matter yet, just fill and wait till the pellet drops at the paper target end and fill...if you want to close your group up for the proper distance shooting or tighten up a one wholer its a must so you know whats going on.. the advertised blurb rarely comes true lol.

 

 

how much in your cylinder? dunno tbh, mines 400cc but thats a buddy bottle.

 

working it from the above dunt matter how much is in the cylinder because you have how many shots to shoot, and where to fill the gun too on your gauge.

 

full string readout.

count how many shots on the read out

divide the fill presure (in what ever units yu like) by the shots.

look at your string print out and deside where you want to fill to (consistancy starts and finishs')

hey presto..take away how many bad shots at the begining for where to fill too.

count how many shots to the 'empty fill'

and work out how many magazines for them shots.

job done no guesing...and you have your power curve recorded.

Thanks, its's a good method but that costs pellets and money as my local gunshop charges £10 per go! But i already know that my sweat spot is 190bar to 90bar. The reason i asked these questions is because i'm saving up for a hw100kt but don't know whether to sell my pump and buy a 7Ltr diver's bottle, i know it would be better for the gun but i use my air rifles quite a lot and don't want to be driving to the shop and filling the bottle all the time. Just trying to figure out how many shots i would get from 100 bar and how many times i could replace that 100 bar using this calculator that Davyt63 shared with me http://airgun-hq.co.uk/airgunhq/Tools/Calculators/tabid/54/Default.aspx. all i can say then is if you want to shoot a barn full/ratting you want to take a bottle with you, a 7 litre dose me with the 400cc rapid but i dont get up to much at the mo,

for cost get a 12 liter, they cumbersom but ok if you fit like as they sit in your car, but a 7 liter is easily handled with a velcro 'handle'.. sort of half way between a naff fill it all time 3 litre and a 12 liter.(costs the same to fill both funnily enough).

 

doesnt the weirach web site have any spec sheets?

It does but nothing about the cc of the cylinders, only what to fill them up to and number of shots per fill etc...

 

The cc is stamped on the side of the cyclinder if you need it.

Ok thanks, but as i don't own one currently i need someone to tell me.

 

It doesn't say on Weihrauchs website how much it is, bit silly. I have found the cc of the full length cylinder but still have no results for the carbine cylinder :(

0.105l on a carbine

Is that 0.105 Litres?

 

100 bar will give you damned all shots, 200 bar might work better! I get 96 full power shots per fill from my .22 HW100 KT!

I know, i know, just need the answer. I fill my guns to 190bar then top up at 90bar for best power curve that's why i need to know 100bar.
