Lab 10,979
Of course it's an achievement mate.....an spl team getting to the group stages of the CL will always be. I just get fed up off this label he has for his great European achievements like no other manager has. Well he got 10 points...that's great but so did MON and didn't qualify. As I say he carried the luck. I don't have any personal vendetta against the man but I just think he is not ready to be a manager of a massive club like the hoops. baw 4,360
Ok lab, you tell me what he needs to do in your eyes to be worthy of managing the hoops? Last 16 isn't enough, are you wanting the treble? Euro final? What mate? Did you think Billy McNeill, Tommy Burns, Venglos, Jansen, Strachan, Mowbray were worthy?
Malt 379
I can't see what more Lennon could do there TBH.. They're haemorrhaging their best players each season to clubs of a lesser stature but crucially with more money, winning the Scottish league and cups ain't enough to keep them there these days because there is just no prestige left in winning up there. He's doing the best he can with the best team in uncompetitive league. It's folly to expect more from him than what he's doing.. When you have players giving up regular champions league football to play in teams fighting relegation from the EPL or fighting for promotion to it from the Championship, its a symptom of a much bigger problem.. baw 4,360
Exactly malt. When we had a decent rangers team up here it was atleast another carrot to attract quality players. Now the only real carrot we have is telling the players we will put you on the European shop window for a club to come in for you. We can't keep hold of players in a 1 team league.

baw 4,360
If Lennon stayed and we got 10 in a row, I could honestly see lab saying...... Aye but rangers were pish
Malt 379
Going to be a bit of a hollow achievement compared to both you guys each doing the 9 in a row when you actually had another team challenging you to them though eh? It's certainly not enough to stop your best players leaving for the championship..

I dunno malt, Celtic were nearly out the game when rangers emulated us by winning 9 in a row, don't think it's stopped rangers shouting about it.

Well according to you, Lab and the other ones dancing about in glee at the time, Rangers died in all but name.. Can't use that as an excuse unless it applies both ways.. Rangers were getting players they couldn't afford right up until they nailed the coffin closed. They are different in name too malt, they are not THE rangers
Malt 379
Well then, case closed.. By your own admission your only real rivals no longer exist, so 10 in a row would have even less significance than a single title won when you actually had a team challenging you for it.. baw 4,360
nice try. Or rivals are still there, they've just been reborn. Besides, when it comes to rubbing it into that lot, we don't care about technicalities, as long as them titles are down in black in white rangers claim their first league title even though they drew it with Dumbarton
