Turnips?

Anybody done any decoying on sheep feed turnips? Just picked up another farm with a good few flight lines but only has turnips, I've never decoyed on this before

hi slipper i was watching a load of pigeons feeding on stubble turnips droping in like they were starving the feild next to it was just full of blue balls ( pigeons) just resting the next day not a pigeon in sight

I'm pretty sure they will feed on turnips if they need to but tbh I reckon your best bet at the moment is roost shooting if there's no shoot on your permission

Its worth a day in the wood near acorn trees especially if Its as waterlogged where you are as it is here

Thanks chaps yes been watching the pigeons on the acorns but it's the same old story because there are so many about one or two shots and there gone to next wood or tree

Pigeon will hit turnips hard,i have shot hundreds on them over the years.In my experience you need it cold/snow and or not alot of alternative food around. One of my best ever bags was on turnip when we had a few inches of snow, turnips were the only food sticking through and it was a massacre
