Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
How did you go about spraying the stock mate? did you sand it and use primer and all that stuff, or just bang it straight on?? lol what spraypaint did you use. has it turned out good? Quote Link to post
Plummerterrier 291
yeah mate sanded it down myself with low grain sand paper until all the old varnish was off it then went over it with a high grain to get it nice and smooth. I used green rustoleum spray paint and gave it 3 base coats. i then used lenghs of grass fanned out and quickly sprayed over from distance with the gold and black colours to give the camoflauge effect then i sprayed it 3 times with clear laquer think i have a guide that explains it better mate but its decent quality and easy to do Quote Link to post
poolcue 0
Love that paint job. I'm sure you'd have a few takers if you fancied doing some more! I think I'll stick to stealth camo though, I'm not brave enough to touch mine Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
im thinking of doing my whole gun.. scope mounts the lot lol does it give a good finish? I would prefer dull to shiney . heard paint can chip off and scratch off pretty easy Quote Link to post
Plummerterrier 291
Its has a great finish ill make up a guide this weekend and I rreckon you could have it dull if you just didnt laquer it. Not to sure how it would hold up wear and tear wise because I dont use the gun but it was a fun project and looks great 1 Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
my 97 is a plinker/ hunter not bothered what it looks like, but at the min it has a shiny blue action and a bright orange (slight exaggeration) stock im sure dull neautral camoey colors would be better Quote Link to post
