bobcullen79 1,495
My terrier has just come limping back toward me, out walking. After checking her, she had a hole in her lower neck, off to the side, about 7mm long, plenty of claret. Ive cleaned her up and syringed the hole with sea salt mixed with water, but the bit that concerns me is theres some swelling below it, about half a pigeon egg sized lump, that was sore to touch. Is this normal or could there be something more wrong? My mate has put the shits up me now by suggesting it could be an air rifle wound as it looks like its just the one deep hole. It does feel that sort of soft but its only just happened Ken. Surely no puss would have accumulated in the last 15 minutes? She`s on the couch resting at the moment, the Mrs mate is coming round in a minute, shes a vet nurse, see what she makes of it. Got me shoes on ready for the vet, and just saying good bye to my credit card money lol.
socks 32,253
Didn't realise the lump was brand new ... Could be blood mate from the other wound ... If you have a vet nurse comming around then you are in good hands ... Just don't go rushing to a vets ... Some vet nurses are a bit airy fairy .......

I`ll listen to most folk, what you do with it a different matter. I`ll just see how it pans out by the morning, she seem comfortable, shes warm and eating. Ive had a good feel and good look in there Paul, couldn't see or feel anything and the flush wasn't flushing out any visual debris, hopefully it is just a traumatic wire puncture. I dropped something carrying the dog earlier so Im gonna go look for it and also for signs of air gunning or even maybe a dick with a air gun.

sandymere 8,263
If it's air it will feel odd, bit like bubble wrap, you'll know it when you feel it. Most likely bled under the skin.
bobcullen79 1,495
Yeah shes fine. Looked well grey and sorry for her self last night. The nurse checked her pulse and breathing, everything was fine. Wound looks clean. Swellings going down, and shes up and about now. I think she was a bit in shock, which had me worried.. Thanks All..
