Should I ?

Recommended Posts

After years of using PCP's for work and pleasure I'm now tempted to give it up and go back to my routes with a springer.

At the moment I've got a s410 and a logun s16s. I'm a pest controller by trade. A few times I've been let down with seals going just before a big job and I've ended up using the ex misuses springer which has done the job well.

My first proper air rifle was a HW77 when I was 13 and there wasn't a lot I missed.

I'm very tempted to jack in all the PCP's and get a SFS springer, what do you think guys think should or shouldn't i ?

i have but then i just shoot a few rabbit for the pot! but if pest control is your living then as has been said in previous threads by others in the same trade you can shoot 3 rabbits in the time it takes to reload a sprung rifle.keep the 410 and get a decent springer they are cheap enough in reality!

You should have one spring rifle, at least, as a back-up rifle to a working-day PCP if this is for professional pest control.

Best springer for FAC is undoubtedly an HW80 or HW80K .22. You won't believe how smooth and sweet these are at 21+ft/bs. Or, for sub-12 ft/lbs I would go for an HW77. Utterly superb accuracy as, you already know from experience yourself.

Best wishes.
