It absolutely incredibly mimics a broken twig of silver birch! Check them out. First time I saw one, on an internal door frame, I simply concluded that a bit of birch twig had got stuck on a cobweb. My mind ~ not knowing such moths existed ~ could come up with no other explanation. It f**king freaked me out, when I realised what it really was. Look!
