mickeyfn19 16
my new fx t12 has already got rust on the barrel. i have amnaged to remove it with some gun oil and a rag but. is there anything out there that i can wrap the gun barrel in the totally stop gun rust completely. i read somewhere that you can just wrap the gun barrel is insulation tape. does this really work? ChrisJones 7,975
Don't wrap anything around the metal. Keep it out of the gun bag when you store it. I store my air rifles in the back of the wardrobe where the air can circulate. I also use Birchwood Casey's Barricade. Wipe the gun down, with some of the solution on a rag, when you've got in from the field. It leaves a sheen on the metal but it does remove all the moisture, and prevents rusting! Quote Link to post

Lewis Ste 245
Just give the gun a good wipe down before and after and shouldn't have a problem. As said don't store it in the bag have it in a cuboard where it's dry Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
Like Lewis said, or just some gun oil, light coat before and after Quote Link to post
mickeyfn19 16
i was once told to give it a once over with something like vaseline (places with blueing) so over the barrel. this should put a protective and sort of weather and rust resistant coating over the parts right? reaper1064 285
trouble with Vaseline is like grease particles stick to it. Best to stick to wipes or a light oil. Quote Link to post
