A big WELL DONE!!!!! to all the show winners and race winners. A great club with good doggie people.....always an enjoyable time at Dunsilly with the whippet folk. Also a big CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! to Ricky, Kirsty and Ollie on winning the grade A racing. Just on my way to RVH A&E as Chontelle stumped too hard on my ankle......probably will have to make another journey to it tomorrow when VC gets back from Scotland!!! lol :laugh:

Thanks Darren, still can't believe he won lol was delighted :D that cup will be his next year ;) lol had a fantastic day, and the weather held out to which was brilliant. Well done to all the winners, espically John Shaw with Mango. Made some really good friends this year. Happy hunting during the winter. And hope a good few will get some training with Dazzam on his lure days.

What a load of shite! I want video evidence of the race or it doesn't count :laugh: No better dog and no better daughter to beat me and my dog in my book. :toast: Great win for Ollie and a disappointing last race of the season for Bolt who is now dead cause its only winners stay in the Vermin Catcher camp :cray::angel::D:D.Lucky for Cody he won all his fights yesterday in Scotland so he can stay and live with us a while longer and he is helping me bury Bolt later in the loosers plot at the bottom of the garden. Thanks to every one who wished Cody luck yesterday he came home with two Golds and 1 silver medal in the various events and won all his three fights. And a special thanks to Tango who near give me a heart attack and almost had me swimming back to Dunsilly with his message to my phone,,, until I found out it was him :D:D .Catch up with you all next season all being well and....... "hunt em hard over the winter" :hunter: :ps.Did Glen miss me? and did he wear the Gok Wans?

Any more results like that when im away and you will be even closer to God than you are now my friend :D:D :D you can redeem yourself by going lamping or ferreting this weekend (no excuses). unless its raining heavy of course :D .One small observation for Janet and Tracy and the beautiful coat Bolt won for the overall puppy race winner. Did you two know Bolt had won this coat before it was actually made? or did you think some Italian greyhound or westhighland white terrier wearing stilts was going to make an appearance the last few meetings and win all races :D:D :D Now granted,, Bolt is a large powerfull whippet but Kieran's Lucy would have been too big for thon coat :D Not knocking it by the way ,me and Nicky are over the moon with it but if it had of fitted Bolt I was planning on wearing it and fook all else last night with a bit of "coole goes quiet"playing in the background (if you know what I mean) :whistling: So thanks to you I got the cold shoulder and ended up wearing my onesie and listening to her snoring instead

The DWTC Traditional Dog Show Sunday 25thMay 2025
As the showing season has now took off for 2025 and the work in the field complete, it was nice to be able to make our annual trip to the DWTC traditional dog show on Sunday  25th May  in Gilford.  The weather  was not kind to us, with a light wind and several heavy showers in between  classes. This did not dampen the spirits of the show goers who came out to support this now popular annual show. The venue was superb, and the crowd was big.
Our shows are all great meeting places in the summer season for genuine Terrier, Lurcher, Whippet and Strong dog men and women to come together for a bit of craic  and a chat, and maybe go home with a trophy or two. And that is exactly what happened at the DWTC show on Sunday.
It was nice to see so many families, their children and dogs all out on enjoying a day out at the sport we love. Our passion is showing with our Canine friends in the summer and back to the field with them in the winter.
As show time was about to start, first on the menu and first in the ring was the childrens handling class. And boy did these little folk show their dogs. There were 24 very excited we people in the ring and everyone with their very special friend. You were all winners on the day and all went home with bags of lovely goodies to munch on. Well done to all.
The show commenced at approximately 1.00pm.
*Here are the Overall Showing Results
      Childrens Handling Class
      1/ Jake Maginn with Fly
      2/ Amy Whitten with Snoopy
      3/ John Boyd with Jack
These young people participating are our huntsmen and women of tomorrow and will keep our Country Sports going long after we have gone.
Congratulations to the winners and all the children in the ring on Sunday.

      Kyle Quinn with Chapo
      ***Overall Champion Pup***
      Kirsty Smyth with Sika
      Congratulations to all above winners
And Finally, the day would not be complete without thanking the Judges.
      Childrens Handling Class
      Leanne Barry/Raymond Crilly
      Whippets / Jim Forrester
      Lurchers/ Jim Forrester
      Terriers/  Raymond Crilly
      Strong Dogs/ Eddie Shaw
And Finally, Finally, I always leave the best to last. Yes Tom and Leanne Barry, Ethan, Morgan, and your back up team Gary Mitchell and Thomas Coleman, you are all simply the best. Your show was run with impeccable organisation and everything ran without a hitch.
It was very evident a lot of preparation and hard work went on behind the scenes to make this show a success this year again and was a most enjoyable day for everyone.
Tom and Leanne, a brilliant day was had by all despite the rain. The window for Country Sports is in our blood and hopefully we will meet again at your show in 2026 for more of the same.
