mushroom 14,105
Came across a couple yesterday walking what looked like a working wheaton shaggy thick coat, huge head etc (did have a red nose though so I'm not sure if that means something else is in the line). When I asked them they told me that is was a wheaton and they had got the dog from working parents here and the line was imported to Spain in the late 70's early 80's and he regular hunts boar and allsorts of other shiit with it. This thing was a real looker and it was eyeing Trev up like he was a Sunday dinner My question does anyone know the line or any info?? Just really curious to see if they were talking bovine. Cheers, Shroom.

mushroom 14,105
Can you get a pic, it would be good to see if it looks like our wheatens These people were from outside the city so no Never seen them before probably never will again but he was adamant the line was imported in the late 70's early 80's The lad that had a Wheaton x on here before with the red nose it was the spit of that but with a really shaggy coat, quite long in the leg, solid and athletic build with a head like a bucket. Ah well I was just curious.
neil cooney 10,416
The Diddy-Coy line of Wheaten was around in the 70's and 80's and because the bull terrier "The Red Hand of Ulster" was introduced into them the odd one threw a red or putty coloured nose. I had a bitch in the early 90's with such a nose. I've never heard of any working wheatens going to Spain but with TL who had that family of dogs you just never know ?
kirstysdad 827
couple of irish brothers on the costa del sol used to get into a bar my mum owned out there they had a couple of strong dogs out there but only use them for guard work but were proper working stock every time i went out to see my mum we would meet up in bar and have right good talk about dogs they knew a lot of people i knew with terriers and always said they missed the hunting more than anything this was about 10 years ago so maybe this dog came of something they breed out there as they were planning to breed what they had
mushroom 14,105
Cheers guys great answers; so the nose does come from a cross and there are/were working strains out here. Just shows ya the Irish turn up everywhere even the dogs are the same
