Hello all. Today I purchased a hw97k and have heard that a strip and relube helps remove some of the twang they have from stock. I cannot get out until Thursday to shoot it and was wondering if you guys would recommend stripping and relubing (I have molybdenum grease) despite the fact it would void the warrenty? Or should I just shoot it in stock form first despite hearing about the badly cut springs and factory lube.

Test it fire it first with a five shot group at 30 yards to make sure it shoots staight before you strip it and void the warranty.

You may have trouble removing the trigger block as weihrauch have started using thread lock recently which required considrable heat to remove resulting in a melted spring guide but this might not be the case with your gun

Have a look at this link http://www.airguntech.com/

Sounds like a pain in the arse, what do they hope to achieve by doing this..?!

people getting second rate rough guns, that are 'brand new' and very expensive.. that they cant smooth out theirselves, with out a heatgun ..

I like to strip down my springer and have a fettle. guess if I buy a new 77 that wont be an option :icon_eek:

I think weihrauch are going to lose quite a few fans and customers the way they keep going about the quality of the new guns they are selling.

Who knows may be it's preparation for some new anti tamper legislation the Eu is cooking up

There is no such thing, airguns have different regulations in each country. Which BTW causes a lot of problems when moving them around. For example, your rifle would be a FAC in Germany...

At the moment the regulations vary from state to state however the Basc recently raised some Eu proposals that concerned them. The concern was that the Eu's agenda was a ban on all civillian ownership of firearms including low powered air rifles

Quoted from Basc The European Commission has launched a European-wide consultation entitled “A common approach to reducing the harm caused by criminal use of firearms in the EU”. The consultation involves completing an online questionnaire with multiple choice questions by 17th June.

Most of the questions/answers are biased and the results could be used to gain legitimacy from ‘public opinion’ in order to further restrict the legal acquisition and possession of civilian firearms. There is no link between the legal ownership of firearms and the illicit trafficking of firearms.

something is on it s way......the governments have planes for us years an decades in advance that we no nothing about ....the EU has been planed since before edward heath to be the way it is now ,edward heath new this when the public were conned into excepting it with a bit of voting theater .......cycle boxes at traffic lights have been in the roads for a long time now .years ago when cycling I would stop in these empty boxes on a push bike thinking what is the point of these ...but now with the latest economic miracle and every one cycling to save money the boxes are full .....what came first ? I feel the powers that be new they would force people onto pushbike ,next road tax for push bikes and license ect....pushing us further into a peasant class where our masters will always have armed motorized escorts .

Looking at the Scottish airgun licensing proposals the consultation document contains the sentence “There is no “right to bear arms” in modern Scotland” This statement was made by an Mp this guy must totaly in cloud cuckoo land does he think a bunch of students are going to start a revolution with bsa meteors and g10 repeaters.

Just shows the mentality of some of the idiots that are supposed to be running the country.

There is no right to bear arms in modern Scotland; is the thinking of a cretin, considering the revenues generated by Highland deer stalking and shooting licences alone in the Scottish economy...

But that's exactly what the idiots are thinking. Armed Revolution.

The thinking in political circles now has moved from governance to control of the poplace.

Not so much the fear of a mass armed uprising against the Islamification of Britain or foreign immigrant overun. But more particularly, and very likely possible, the collapse of the UK economy.

Because if and when interest rates go up, and some day they will have to, the massive black hole of debt our economy is in, will cause the utter collapse of the UK's entire economic system to a point where cash will be almost non-existant and we will be in the same shithole as Greece is in now. Or worse, as this is Britain. Nobody does "worse", better than we do!

And there will be no cash in the machines for food, heat, light, nothing. Your savings will be lost, your salaries won't be worth a shit. The banks will grab any amount of cash going in and giving nothing back out. There will be panic and rioting and, very soon there will be looting by people who would never have dreamed of doing such a thing; and the police and the army will not be able to cope. They will be cash strapped and hungry too by then anyway.

And what will a population do when it is starving to death??

In the land of the unarmed starving, the robbed and the utter poor, the one with the gun, ANY gun, will be King.

That's why the politicians fear us all having so much as a pea-shooter.

air guns are a GATEWAY GUN for sure .....The problem that macaskill is going to solve in scotland that dosent exist , will be a lot worse if the neds learn about cheap powerful untraceable [throw away if homemade] silent catapults also having more power than a 12 ft lbs air gun .macaskill just wants some of the euro gravy train . the eu like macaskill wants its sheeple unarmed not its elite even hitler didnt disarm the elite .
