Quality footage there... is that you in the clip Magwich or did you just find it on the web? Either way i bet he wishes he had taken some ammo with him :gunsmilie: I'm a bit confused... is this the same model that you have had problems with MC? Hope you manage to sort it out mate.

Ok, latest update, firstly Magwitch, the illuminator looks simular, ish.

Took the unit out for an hour last night as there was finally little moon and no fog or mist, Well long story short i had 12 rabbits for 14 shots, the rabbits were all shot at less than 45 yds, some only 20, could make out rabbits to around seventy yards but would not like to have shot at them, where as on the lamp i would feel quite happy taking head shots out to a hundred yards.

The Archer with practice and a bit more fine tuning will benefit my work, which was my initial aim, however it does not alter my views on the lack lustre approach to the after sales service i recieved or the fact that i think claims of the units capabilities are a little errr, :hmm:8)

To set this unit up is very difficult, the instructions are VERY basic, in hindsight i would have not bought the Archer i would instead have spent the two grand on a Cobra dedicated unit instead, but as they say hindsight is a wonderful thing.

If anyone living in the south west or anywhere else come that matter is thinking about buying one of these i would happily show you mine to give you an insight into their capabilities, but to be fair anyone shelling out this sort of money on NV of any type really should insist on a demo before parting with their money as shiney mag adverts and reviewers of products can make things look very attractive indeed.

Regards MT.

MT, I'd like to ask some questions if I may as I'm interested in getting a Starlight Archer unit myself.

What method of illimination are you using, a laser? Of which type please or a lamp with an IR filter? (What lamp/power please?)

What grade tube did you get? B,C, or D?

Cheers, looking forward to your reply,

John
