DazAllison1 556
On the look out for a new jacket for the incomming season, last season I used the old trusty wax barbour but while I kept the rain and wind out it also weighs a ton and kept the sweat in, I'm mainly a day walker but I go out on the odd dig with mates here and there, so I'm needing something waterproof, breathable, good pockets and of reasonbly smart apperance, a shove in the right way would be great cheers
DazAllison1 556
Just had a look on the seeland website and I like the look of the lingfield and the eton, anyone had these jackets and how good are they?
cragman 2,840
I have an Aigle Jacket and it's the bollocks. I think it's called the "aplomb". Don't think they make them now. Brilliant in wet weather, pit zips, double zip at the front, MTD material, game pocket, cartridge pockets, map pocket, can be used with Aigle gilet zipped in and high collar. Can't find anything to match it.
Outlaw Pete 2,224
Daz; Surely GoreTex should be your starting point? If you don't mind sounding like a crisp bag, I've seen some pretty cheap stuff around.

A few folk have said GTX stuff rips pretty easy, I'd be looking for something a bit more hard wearing
Outlaw Pete 2,224
Mmm. Sounds like a crisp bag. Rips like one. Fair comment. Personally, Daz, I wear a Double Ventile jacket from Country Innovations. Reassuringly expensive! I've had it a decade now and it still looks as good as the day it arrived. Completely water proof. It's not lacking in pockets. But, nor is it a walking 'Webbing'. Thing is, I wouldn't wear it within fifty feet of barbed wire. That's probably why it's still so good. But, I've ripped the shit out of wax on wire too Where to we draw the line? I'd just say that Double Ventile is silent. Soft. Doesn't make me melt. Looks smart. It's just up there with the top price range stuff. Anyway, I like jackets. My life too has been an on going quest for the perfect 'working' one. Haven't found it yet. So I like threads like this Oh, by the way; What's that massive, US Hunting store? Name escapes me and I have to dash. They're on line. Septic gear can leave all ours standing. Worth a look
Dubba 72
Cabelas it's called you can get some great deals through them. Just bought a Barbour Bushman jacket £60 in the sales at Countrywide bargin
Born Hunter 17,907
I think it's hard to beat a good old Barbour. I'm on a Pro Hunter, can't knock it at all, when the going gets really shit it's in its element! But I don't know as I'd buy another personally, it's almost 'too much' for me, I'm more inclined to dress light unless it's really nasty out.
