So that lots of people begin to yell, "yes I love fracking, come frack me hard!"

We need to frack beautiful areas of rural land because it will make bills cheaper for you, we're always thinking of you!

As always, follow the money and you'll find some rich twat who wants yet more money. Thats my theory on it anyway.

money is the root of all evil......a phrase that will never age

Here here. True statements never do!

Greed pure and simple, just like this austerity period we're all supposed "to be in together", so far the only ones tightening their belts appear to to be the ones with belts so tight it wouldn't fit round ya wrist!

if you look at government spending versus income since the 1970`s, its clear that we are living on borrowed time financially. bashing the poor is just a smoke screen to appease the middle classes. fook me i have gone all political again.............

Absolutely, that's where all this "its all the doley's fault!" has come from, everybody is looking in the wrong direction for the blame! Truth is if you look at the figures, benefit fraud is actually not a huge percentage of the entire benefit budget. Not that I condone fiddling the system, but you could have 10 X as many people doing it and it still would have little effect on the overall deficit of the UK. Now lets compare that to the amount we don't receive from multi-million pound earning companies dodging their tax...

its a vicious circle, it doesn't take much to see through the figures, even the estimated 110 billion lost a year to legal tax evasion is not even the issue . the welfare state in its present format is unsustainable, take state pensions, when this was introduced the age to be eligible to claim was i think 70 the average life expectancy back then was 48  fast forward to today and the age to be eligible has dropped and life expectancy is now in the mid to high 70`s, over half of the money collected is paid out in pensions and this figure can only rise. any government who tried to alter this would be voted out pretty quickly by the grey vote. I honestly believe all benefits should be means tested and no universal benefits should exist, take the winter fuel payment, why should the tax payer be paying for it when the fuel companies report huge profits, more social responsibility is needed on the part of all concerned from the general public to government to business.

:good: Our welfar state is killing us! It's the flaw of a democracy, politicians can't do what's needed because they wouldn't last five minutes so none of them will.

I agree too, I find it illogical that benefits should be universal, take child benefit, if your on a fat wedge a year, why have money off the Gov? Benefits should be means tested so that those without the means will get enough to avoid a crisis.

It's only a benefit for those that haven't paid their way, it's a tax rebate for everybody that has.
